Time flies...

Wow haven't posted in a while....Not as bad as Kelly who hasn't posted since July.

Enjoying some quiet time right now. The boys are up north with Grandma and Grandpa Miller. Ann, Rich and the kids are there too. They always love to go up. I don't have any time off so I won't be making it up for the holidays.

Colored my hair today. The greys were attacking so it was time!

Trying to clean up the chaos that Christmas created. Ugg what a mess. Of course the one thing I need to return I have no receipt!!!! I will find it. Maybe.

Here are some pics....

The Shop-a-thon

Well Black Friday is done! I scooped up some fabulous deals on Thursday. Joe and I went out Friday and had fun. We woke up 2hrs late but we did not really miss out on anything. There wasn't a lot of things that we had to have. This probably completes 80% of my shopping hooray!!!!

Pierce wants a lizard. I found some on craigslist and now just have to decide if I really want to go there. The trips to the store are a pain to buy crickets all the time. Breed our own? I don't know. I have my doubts he will feed one pet let alone the lizard and the crickets.

Gotta run Miranda is making me nuts!!!!

My Little Angel

Why am I up this early? Cause my little Angel has horns. She finally woke me up at 3. I lasted about an hour as she poked prodded and layed on top of me, sideways. Sometimes I guess she is just not tired.

I am a bit concerned about her skin again. We had that bout of Impetigo over the summer. Then a random spot looking the same October. Last night she had something that looked different on her arm. It was bumps that looked like they had a black dot in the middle. She itched them which of course made it look worse. We put on the cream from last time and now it just looks like a scratched area. I am wondering if she has eczema. My kids all have weird bumpy skin so I would not be surprised.

Have a good day everyone!

Black Friday.....

It's almost time! I am so excited to do my annual Black Friday shopping. There was some concern that my work was gonna not give me the day off but they did. I have been searching adds frantically and don't see anything we HAVE to have. Kinda a let down. I will still be out there throwing elbows with everyone else! What is everyone else looking for? I may be able to hunt for you as well? I am hearing the Nerf Vulcan is a big deal this year.

This is the second weekend in a row without any plans. This never happens to me. I was gonna do Cub Scout training but they seriously angered me. We may defect entirely. Kyle likes it though so I am trying to be adult about it. Seriously, 3 months in, I am a treasurer with no idea how much money we have, how much money we need and no bank account. SPLENDID!

Pierce is having his Scoutmaster conference at the McNeely's house today. After this he only has one more step before he moves up a rank! Hooray!

I just fixed Miranda's beautiful blue nail polish so she doesn't look a wreck. I may try to con Joe into painting the hallway. My beautiful princess colored her bedroom walls a lovely red last week and then colored the dining room walls a nice shade of blue a few days back. Pierce needed a beat down and was volunteered to scrub said walls. He did a great job!

I am off to the grocery store.........

The Weekend

Halloween is finally over! We had fun trick or treating in Richmond with Steve and the kids. I let each of the boys pick out 20 pieces of candy to keep and put the rest in a bag to take to work. Of course Miranda dumped that big bag of candy into her princess bag and has been carrying it around all day. I will post pics soon.

Yesterday I spent my day at Scouting University. It was actually pretty cool. My favorite classes were winter camping (You can make snowshoes from PVC pipe) and first aid, we made blood with Cocoa and Glycerine).

Joe took the kids to Scouting for food on Saturday morning. They stuck it out like troopers and passed out 2500 bags as a group. Please, if you are able, donate to this great cause. Next week I will take the boys back out and pick everything up.

Today we are sick. Miranda was just inconsolable this morning. Joe took her to the DR. He has a respiratory infection and she has an earache. I am pretty sure I have something gross as well. Fun stuff.

Monday will be Kyle's 3rd week in Karate. I think he is getting his left from his right. Okay not completely but he is getting better.

Tuesday we have Scouts for both boys.

Wednesday we are going to the annual show for St. Mary's Retreat House. Joe and Rick work there. This year it's a comedy show, a clean comedy show, but still it should be fun. We always have a great time and it's fun to dress up and have a nice night out.

Mom and her Sisters are leaving to go see Aunt Clara, in Wisconsin this coming weekend. Pray for the people on the Amtrack with them. Four Matusiks gets a little rowdy.

I am off to my scout meeting...Enjoy your week everyone.

Halloween Fun

Joe and I took the kids to the Trick or Treat at the Mill pond. Unfortunately the kids Trunk or treat got canceled due to a lack of participation. We went through the building and got lots of goodies. They really did a great job with the decorating. The kids had fun but I think it might be time for Pierce to be done. Really at 11? I think so. He has very little interest in the whole costume/candy racket. Why are my children not motivated by candy? Seriously when I as little we went out for a full 2 hours, planned the route ahead of time and were beat down tired when we were through. My children could go around one block and ask to go home.

Last weekend our friends Sam and Kristie came over and we went to the Terror in Townsend forest at the Waterford Sportsmen's club. We had a few cocktails and a good time. Joe was not able to stay with the group and we had to leave em.

I got the results back from my sleep study. I do not have sleep apnea. I probably do not have narcolepsy(thank God) but I am oddly tired. I was able to sleep from 9 until eight the next morning and then take 5 naps the next day. At each nap I fell asleep within 2.4 minutes. I told you people I was tired! See Julie matching issues, we really are family! I originally went in because of the crazy sleepwalking/talking but the biggest issue was my nodding off while driving. Not Safe! They gave me a drug called Provigil, it's like speed. I took it yesterday at 9am and did not fall asleep until 3am. I may need a lower dosage. Of course the doctor recommended I lose weight, as they all do. The skinny hag behind the counter highlighted that area for me. She was so lucky I am both fat and tired or I would jumped threw the little window!

I survived....

Pierce and I went on a camping trip with Troop 43 this weekend. Although I was pretty sure I was gonna freeze to death on Friday nite we had a fun time.

Clare's Baptism

I took a few pics at Clare's Baptism......Still waiting on Jackie to send me the rest. The ceremony went well. Of course with the Last name beginning with A we got to go first. We kinda just guessed and it all worked out. No one dropped the baby so that was good. It was wierd being at a Catholic church ceremony. It almost felt like being an alien from another planet observing customs. The church I went to as a child did the whole sit, stand ,kneel thing. There was no kneeling but twice as much sit and then stand. I learned there can be two preachers but one is a deacon because he was married before he became a preacher. Does that sound right? I think that was it. Clare was absolutely beautiful in her white dress!

Halloween......

It's Halloween again. This weekend we went to the Millers (not related) annual Halloween Party. One again Dan and Cindy topped last year. There were bounce houses, a straw pit, fishing, ghost toss, a golden goose, frankenstein golf, sack races, walk the plank and all kinds of awesome kids stuff! Then there was the Haunted House. Once again a fabulous job. Joe got to be a scary creature this year. I got a behind the scenes look when I went over Friday and Cindy and I created a room of balloons. They were hung everywhere with fishing line. Both my toes and fingers were numb but in the end it was really cool.

A Big Congrats to Dan and Cindy who renewed their wedding vows at the party. 15 years is a long time.

Today I went shopping and bought the boys some school pants. Pierce is in the middle school this year so he can wear cargo pants. He is very excited about that.

Joe is out hunting. I hope he gets a deer early this year. He was quite angry he woke up late today.

It's Back....................

What back you say??? The screaming delirium that is Michigan football. As I type Joe is emitting high pitch screaming noises. I myself am not a fan but he has enough for both of us.

We volunteered at Arts Beats and Eats this weekend on the Green Team. We spent our time as trash directors. It was fairly long and painful but it was for a great cause. The folks who put this festival together sure work hard at it. This was the first year for the Green Team but I think it went well. They were trying to get a 95% efficiency rate but I think even 50% saves a ton. They have forks that are potato based that break down in 45 days! It is something ridiculous like 200 years for a regular plastic fork. Joe stayed home on Saturday with the kids but Sam, Kristie and I returned for our second shift.

It's time for back to school again. We went to open house last Wednesday and met the teachers. Pierce has a lot of male teachers this year and I think that will help him. He also has an odd class list that includes Quiz Bowl, Book Club, Horticulture and Viking Lore. Welcome to sixth grade. Kyle will be in Mrs Plewka's class. She seems to be very nice.

Reunion and Barn Party

The Matusik Family reunion and Uncle Joe's Barn party fell on the same day this year. We were kept busy. I have a funny story about the getting ready for these events. I get dressed in my fairly nice clothes and then my husband says to me...Is it time to go? I have to put on my good CAMO shorts. There go all my high society illusions. We may be on COPS next right after the Ingman episode.

Aunt Polly's was fun. Got to see some of the people I don't usually get to see. My cousin Annette might have a bra party. That will be fun. Julie and Megan were there. Megan and Miranda colored together. Uncle Ernie got a surprise cake for his 80th birthday.

We went to Uncle Joe's barn party next. I was very happy to see Aunt Katie and Uncle Jim made it from up north. I also got to see my cousin Melanie and her son Keene, who is already gonna turn one! What a cutie he is!!! I only got a couple pictures there. It was raining so we didn't get to stay long. I did get a picture on my cousins Danielle and Marlena and one of Miranda trying to steal the golf cart. Miranda attempted to sit in the pond. That's my girl. It's always nice to see the little ones. My cousin Jenny's daughter Lilly is adorable, she is right around Mirandas age. My cousin Jill brought her son Colton and he and Miranda played in the wet sand toys together.

Zoo Day..

Jackie invited us to the zoo on Saturday. It was Detroit Edison Day. We went on the walk and saw the animals. They let us in at 7:45, which was neat because they seemed more active than they usually do. The kids all had a lot of fun. Nick wasn't happy about sitting in his stroller and Miranda was crazy angry about her wagon. Whatever, there was a good chance they would have been eaten by the Lion if we let them run. Thanks Jackie!! It was lots of fun.

Pierce's Birthday!!!

My baby boy turned 11 on the fifth of August. He is growing into a fine young man. A little sassy but what can you do? We all love him very much. Here are some pics from his family party here at the house. Later we are going to take him and a few friends to Gameworks.

Rebecca all growed up and Sprinkler park

Kyle was invited to a birthday party for Leah and Abby today at the splash park in Clarkston. I took the rest of the kids cause it looked like so much fun!

I actually think Rosie had the most fun. The water was freezing cold!

These are some practice pics Canela did of Becca. As you all know it's her Senior year and she needs Senior Pics. I got to dress her like a doll today and go through all my jewelry. We picked out 5 outfits to try some more poses. Will post those later. Any suggestions on where I should take em?

Happy Birthday Kyle Joe!

Above. Kyle got a spy kit from Tom B. We all loved the mustache. As you can see Becca was especially pretty.

My baby boy is six today. We had cake and opened presents. He then went outside with his dancing shoes to ride his skateboard.
